New Years Resolutions from our Mentors
Meet Our Mentors!
What a wild time, huh? We hope you and your families are staying safe and feeling all right in these first few days of the new year.
Robofun is open and very cautiously crafting our beautiful classes. A few weeks back, I had a chance to speak with two of our newest mentors, Lars Dabalsa and Jonathan Silverman, who were in the office helping us create a few lego kits for the kiddos, and I got to ask them what they were excited for in the new year.
Lars was most excited about spending time with their family. They have a holiday tradition of going to see the holiday lights and that was something they were looking forward to!
Jonathan's holiday resolution was- get this- to work on making a model that might predict the price of cryptocurrency. If your kids are in Jonathan's class, maybe ask him how his model is going or when he became interested in cryptocurrency.
As the holiday season wraps up, we want to give the biggest shoutout to all of our mentors. We are so beyond grateful that they show up for Robofun in all the ways that they do. Thank you all, for being amazing people and beautiful mentors for all of our young scholars.
Of course, we'll be here at Robofun with glowing smiles and eager learners to help ease some of those blues away. There are a couple of afterschool spots still open! Our class schedule by grade can be found here. You can register online or call Noah at (212) 245-0444!
Hart Quiz response answers to my interview with Artemis Papert:
1. True, Artemis's Dad Seymour Papert taught her the to code in LOGO when she was a child.
2. All of the above. Now an artist, Artemis has been a scientist (nematologist and botanist) a Jungian analyst, and a Shiatsu therapist.
3. All of the above. Turtle Art is great for kids (and adults) who like art, math, and coding.
Thanks for playing! Check out our instagram stories coming up soon, for more!
