Hart to Hearts
What is Laura's Hart to Heart Series?
Every week, since March of 2020, I’ve interviewed someone who is in some way connected to children, learning, and technology in my Hart to Heart series (H2H for short). I've loved this part of my job! I have interviewed many experts in a variety of different fields from STEAM to Game Making, Inventors, Writers, Child Psychologists, and more. This week, I am pleased to be speaking with Heather Montilla, National Director of PBS Books. Heather produces and directs an online interview series to celebrate a love of reading. Recently, she produced shows that interviewed Meg Medina and Kwame Alexander. Coming up on January 12th is a program about Muhammad Ali, with Lonnie Ali and Ken Burns, exploring how Muhammad Ali became a champion of humanitarianism through his commitment to service outside of the ring.

One of the highlights of last year's Hart to Hearts was with Artemis Papert! Artemis uses a coding language called Turtle Art, based upon her father’s work to make beautiful paintings. Did you get a chance to watch Artemis's interview? Here's the link to view now!
