This time of year always reminds me to focus on making resolutions for the upcoming year. What are some of the things you want to look into this year, brush up on, or dive into?

Maybe waking up earlier for more morning ease? Researching a new topic of interest? A family recipe you're determined to perfect by the next holiday season?

The start of a new year always has us thinking about all the little ways we can improve ourselves as time goes on. I've been thinking about the little things I can do around the office to improve my workdays.

Here are a few tips that'll help improve our overall morale this new year:

  • Standing Meetings & Desks are a great way to improve your health with minimal change to your daily schedule. Standing burns about 40% more calories than sitting might in a given hour. This also helps boost mood & reduces typos!

  • Best time for lunch? The best way to make sure you're forming healthy eating habits is to set a regular time for your lunch and schedule your day around it!

  • Take your breaks. As winter gets colder, it's easier to get into a routine of staying in the office during lunchtime. If you don't want to go outside for lunch, make sure you're still distinguishing lunchtime from work. Take 30 minutes of personal space to read, write, sudoku, etc, (with a closed screen!) to feel that mental refreshment, even if you're not physically going far.

  • Preparing yourself for the next day, the night before. At the end of every day, check your schedule for tomorrow, so you're aware and prepared for the tempo of the day. This could be a great way to save energy in the morning!

Take life at your own pace, do what feels good to your mind, body and soul, and make sure to take time to honor yourself, your spaces and relationships. Have a beautiful 2022.
