Tips on Creating Healthy Habits!
Tips from our Staff Book Club Read!
Happy Lunar New Year!!! We hope you have a beautiful entry into this new cycle.
The Robofun staff has been participating in a book club for the past 3+ years! Currently, we're reading Atomic Habits by James Clear, in which we've found a gem of a breakdown on how we build, sustain, and dismantle our habits as human beings. Here are a few of our favorite takeaways so far.
Habits are a compound interest of self-improvement. Getting 1% better every day counts for a lot in the long run. Keep going!
The 1st law of Behavioral Change is to make it obvious! To make the desire a habit, place the cue somewhere obvious & constant! The most common cues are time and location.
The inversion of the 2nd law of behavior change is to make it unattractive. Your habits are modern day solutions to ancient desires. Every behavior has a surface level craving and a deeper underlying motive. Make your motive unattractive, the craving slowly releases.
(The Plateau of Latent Potential is a good visual for how your efforts might turn around the more you keep at them!)
We've been really enjoying this read, and Noah's even been keeping track of everyone's individual goals so that we stay accountable for the habits and behavior patterns we want to upgrade! If you're looking for something to pick up, I would highly recommend this read.
