What Makes Robofun Special?
The Winning Combo: Great Teachers, Small Classes, Thoughtful Curriculum
The past few days at Robofun have been really wonderful. On Sunday at our open house, I was able to meet several families and talk about our mission and our work. I really enjoyed seeing happy students learning, experimenting, and showing their parents gleefully what they were doing. On Monday, we had vacation camp. I often like to fade into the woodwork and just watch how things are going. During lunch, everyone was eating, playing games, treating each other respectfully, and most importantly having a good time. Noah was even playing chess with a student. It was a moment when I felt very proud of my staff. I thought about what is making camp today go so well? Three things (amongst many others) became clear:
GREAT TEACHERS: Mentors (our term for our teachers) were excited to teach and were incredibly good at pacing the material to the level of each child.
SMALL CLASSES: Every child was getting a lot of time to build, explore, and most importantly interact with their teacher.
THOUGHTFUL CURRICULUM: We work hard at creating, all our own curriculums. They are tried, tested, and modified to be the most effective. We're proud of this!
This summer, we're going to be using two amazing new curricula that we're currently testing out to children who are loving it! I'll be featuring our new Python and Robotics curriculum in a blog post later this month. We're ready for you this summer! We look forward to working with your children. If you're ready to go and would like to register for a week of Robofun, click on any week and it will bring you to the registration. We offer programs to 3 - 13-year-olds in robotics, coding (Python or Scratch), or Minecraft. If you have questions or would prefer to register by phone, please do not hesitate to call us at (212) 245-0444 ext. 107 to talk to Noah.
