Atomic Habits, Atomic (Robo)fun!
Reports from Week 3 of Summer Camp!
I hope you're enjoying a nice long weekend!
We have a book club for our full-time staff. We're now starting Atomic Habits by James Clear. We rotate between education-oriented books and how to work as a team. Some of the clear winners for me were: Educate by Tara Westover and Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria by Beverly Daniel Tatum. I highly recommend them! Both are well written, readable, and with very great messages about learning. I want my staff to engage in thinking about our goal to help children love to learn. Once were further into Atomic Habits, I'll share some of my takeaways!
In the meantime, here are some reviews from our campers. Noah Diamond, our amazing Senior Onsite Manager asked a few students to tell us about their week of camp. I can completely accurately use the phrase, "We've got HAPPY CAMPERS!"
NOAH: What is your favorite part of Robofun?
Pepito: I love coding and the all-around coding unit and everything they do is my favorite part.
Jimmy: Probably coding the turtle on Python because it gives me the most problems and challenges.
Max: They teach you how to do stuff in Minecraft and build and teach you ways to move stuff with LEGO.
