STEAM Events Near NYC this Week!
We're getting closer and closer to winter! This week has been in the 60s and we're starting to feel frigid! Luckily, next week seems a bit nicer. Utilize this time to take the family on a trip!
I overheard some of my staff talking about taking in the fall foliage before the winter truly sets in, and it got me thinking about taking a trip myself. I love NYC with all my heart but sometimes we need a break, am I right?
Here are a few STEAM activities happening just on the outskirts of NYC this week!
For a quick weekday outing not too far, New Jersey's Wharton Public Library is offering an enchanting Halloween workshop on Tuesday, October 26th at 6:30 pm, where students grade 6th - 12th can make a Halloween lantern out of mason jars! On Wednesday, they're having a Halloween STEAM night with many more activities!
Over the weekend, the Center for Science Teaching and Learning-Tanglewood Preserve's is having their last Spooky Fest of the season! About an hour and 20 minutes into Long Island, The Spooky Fest includes wooded paths, eerie lighting, exhibits, activities, and even a few (scary and non-scary) haunted houses!
Westchester's Children's Museum is having its annual Saturday Spooktacular on October 30th. A day full of creepy-crawly crafts, Halloween songs, costume contests, and about an hour north in Rye.
For more STEAM activities, consider cozying it up (socially distanced) in one of our upcoming STEAM classes! At Robofun, we're offering classes in Robotics, Coding & Game Design, Minecraft, and Python. You can bring a friend or make a new friend at Robofun!
